The Anti Bucket List

A lot of the time I find myself looking back on what could have been. It's a joke in my family that my motto should be 'shoulda, woulda, coulda'.
And whilst people can tell you how well you've done/ how far you've come/ how many memories you've made, sometimes the only opinion that matters is the harshest critic's. And that's yours. As long as you are proud of what you've achieved then that's all that should matter. Unfortunately for some of us, the ideas of others outshine our own.

So, as inspired by Liv Purvis, I thought it would be apt that as we approach the new year I do a sort of bucket list. One that makes me acknowledge how well I've done/ how far I've come/how many memories I've made, because sometimes you have to pay respect to your bad ass-ness.

  • I scrapbooked and now I have some amazing memories to look back on
  • After building up The Fear Factor I travelled to South East Asia, hunted waterfalls, ate new food, met new people
  • I turned 24 and didn't die of old age
  • Convincing myself I was a DIY expert and decorated my bedroom, pulled up the carpet and built an IKEA flatpack. I am now unstoppable
  • I started running, and then quickly stopped
  • Watching my stepdad complete his first marathon made me feel very proud (and then guilty and lazy)
  • Reconnecting with old friends and making new ones
  • Seeing Ed Sheeran obviously blew my mind
  • Took my longest solo flight
  • Seeing my best friend move into her first home melted my heart
  • Visited the beautiful Paris with my best friend and ate my weight in butter
  • Saw Annie in the theatre for the first time since I was five, and she's right. The sun'll come out. Eventually. In March.
  • And let's not forget the time I joined Tinder and quickly had to get a reality check
There you have it. My Anti Bucket List. And d'you know what? Pat on the back to me.
